Of course it’s one of those days! It’s the 26th, double thirteen!! I have a to-do list of fourteen items, thought I was being a tad over optimistic, but it was still doable, I should have known the fates have other ideas.
Easy task one – book wheelchair service. Dial the number, engaged. Try again ten minutes later get through, wind way through automated service, finally a human, who announces “Oh you need to call …..”. Don’t you just love out sources who out source services and forget to inform clients? Call second number, speak to nice lady, give my details but they cannot find me in the records sent from the service to the out sourcer who passed it to them. *sigh* They are calling me back, which means I cannot get on with anything else, but they rang shortly to say I had been found (probably down the back of the filing cabinet). Couple of thing to bring to their attention. Booked in for next Friday morning, time kinda before 1pm, engineer ‘might’ call before getting here.
Easy task two – call energy supplier – they left a message on my answerphone about switching to a smart meter. Called them back, navigated through another automated system (these are designed to prolong the call thus costing more to call) and got through to a human, nice fellow with an Irish accent. Asked and answered several confusing questions, was then informed that they are not able to put these meters in flats and they were confused why I had been called. Oh well, duty done, call ended. Two minutes later energy supplier on phone, asking about coming to fit smart meter, explained that already been told they’re not being installed in flats. Hmm, curious, why am I on a call list. Then the penny dropped, they don’t want me, a residential customer, they are calling me as a business customer, doh! Although the bills for the communal electricity are going to our complexe’s agents, they have not updated the contact details to theirs, it still shows mine. Got that removed, told them agents email, now to let agent know, that’s something else they have not done.
Easy task three – install update – after doing the cautionary back up, I went into App Store and clicked “update” and ended up in an eternal loop of “update”, “restart”, “updates list has changed”, “check for available update”, “update”, “restart”, etc etc etc yada yada yada. Search online for help, end up posting to a discussion forum, awaiting helpful reply.
At least the beef in red wine and chicken Provençal haven’t boiled over or stuck to the bottom of the pans.
Must crack on, of the fourteen items (fifteen as I need to now email the agents) five are done. Think it’s going to be a “get done this weekend”.
