It’s starting …. those tell tale signs that your brain is not properly communicating with the nerves/muscles to complete a task with the information received from the old eye balls. You find yourself doing something and the ticker tape caption scrolling across your vision is “Why isn’t this working ….”
Then a moment of clarity dawns and you wonder whether you should ever admit your error.
This is was happened.
My tv is digital but I also have a ‘box’ on which I can record programmes for later viewing, so there are two remotes. Both are black but are different sizes and have different sized buttons and configuration of buttons. I parked my be-hind on the sofa grabbed remote and hit the red button, nothing happened, I watch myself point the remote at the tv and firmly press the red button, nothing happened. Hmm cannot be batteries surely, maybe some grease is across the sender, wipe it with tongue and aim control at the tv. Press power button and ……… nothing happened. Brain wakes up, oh oops my bad wrong remote.
Grab other remote hit red button and tah-dah the tv springs into life.
Switch back to the other remote and hit the button waiting for the big green light to come on the box, nothing happened. Hmm, carefully point remote at the box and firmly press the button, nothing, it looks a dead lifeless box of nowt. Look back at remote, brain has second surge of clarity, red button not the green one, thats for mute. Press the red button and the lovely green light comes on and the box springs to life.
Brain returned to sleep mode for the rest of the day.
Not good, not good at all. This almost out ranks the day I came home from work and out my car keys in the fridge and then remembered that was where they were the next morning and what was worse at no point did my brain do “Huh? The Fridge?” felt completely normal.
I am done for
