Major Murphy & Lord Sod conspire

28 Jan

Remember last week when I told you about getting the theatre date wrong?  Well ……… it did not end there ……. everything was re-arranged to happen on the Saturday, even the weather was looking like behaving for us as well. Ha! Friday morning Big Sis twanged her back as she lifted the grill pan out to cook bacon [they say bacon is not good for you].  It twanged enough for her to instantly drop the pan and scream very loudly   It twanged so much she could not move, she could not straighten, walk, lift her arms, or anything   with a lot of pain and tears hubby helped her shuffle to the bed [thankfully they live in a bungalow] but she could not lay down without pain, maybe get a little respite by laying on her right side.

She was dreadfully upset that she would be the reason we could not go to the theatre or the dinner.  We chatted about contingency plans of getting there and moving about but just the walking would be too much for her, so the plans had to be cancelled completely.  Poor Sis, she has never been this incapacitated and it is a shock to the emotional system.  Monday she contacted the Doc who gave her a painkiller [I thought he might have gone the anti-inflam route] but she has had a couple of wobbly turns but is persevering.

We did joke that there must been some fated reason we were not destined to go to this show, I scoured the local papers to see if there was a riot at the theatre or the restaurant ran out of our favourite mushroom dish, but no, there was a road accident on a notorious stretch but it was not at a time we would have been travelling, so Murphy and Sod were just playing bugger-ups.

I may have solved my cross stitch dilemma, I have found a kit for two small designs featuring Tigger and Piglet in one and Pooh and Eeyore in another, if I can find a design for the numbers I can sketch out my own creation.  But before that the crochet shawl must be finished, two rows to go and as i have said before with my reduced muscle ability I can only do one row a day.

We can never tell with these two guys….Both are hell bent on upsetting apple carts – or any kind of cart for that matter. I believe they can also be very kind if the fancy takes them. 😉 Hope sis is soon fully mended….Perhaps next time. Hugs! xx

I think the road to recovery had entered a dual carriage way status rather than a c-class pothole laden track *thumbs-up+fingers-crossed*
