10 does not a fayre make

24 Nov
market

My Sister dragged me out ‘early’ on a Sunday again!  Last week it was up to the City for a Christmas Fayre where there were loads [easily 100, there were christmas tunes playing and stall holders had christmas-ed up their stalls] of small traders selling their wears, food items, gardening items, jewellery, toys, clothing – all the christmas gift type things you would expect, oww at and ahh at.

A notice had been spied that a local leisure establishment was having a “Christmas Craft Fayre” this Sunday, so we went. Well, first there were no notices as to where it was, and after asking twice we discovered in their wedding chapel room.  We approached the darkened space and entered …. eeeeks …. I have been to fancier jumble sales!  A grand total of ten tables, three of which were second hand junk, one was a beautician offering nail service, the remainder looked like hobbyist creative.  No proper lighting, not a single festive decoration and the style of silence that would make a library cringe.  We were within the space for a whole ten minutes and most of that was taken up waiting for someone else to move so we could.

oh well, it was some fresh air and a laugh in the car on the way home to mine for coffee!!
