Today has not been a good day ….. it has been a b88888 of a day.
I can hardly keep my eyes open, it is as dark as night and grotty with it. Today was Dentist appointment day, I had been waiting and waiting for them to send me an appointment only they had the address down as wrong, it was only after phoning them that I got an appointment and when that letter came through with some other post I saw the addressing problem. Thing is, I remembered the time wrong, I was sure it was 10.30 but no it was 10am, so we got there thirty minutes late …. then it was not the usual dentist it was a different one. She was not very personable and had an accusing tone when she asked a question or told me what would be happening. The “You don’t pay do you”, just about totally off my piss, because I do ay, I am the lucky one who falls through all the gaps in the criteria. Gums, she is worried about my gums, a course of antibiotics and some mouthwash on prescription, great I have to pay for those too. She poked, pulled and prodded to the extent now all my teeth are aching and I have a mad headache. Trying to sort another appointment was a nightmare because the only time they have is when have a second appointment and the look on her face was as if to say – cancel we are more important – well I will decide that!
If I was not so damn cold, hungry and utterly annoyed, I think I would cry.

I once had a dentist called Sharp.
Sounds as though they may be related.
I don’t know why Dentists have started on about gums. Mine did a couple of weeks ago. It always used to be cavities, but they don’t seem as bothered about them now. Don’t let it get you down. Teeth (and gums) are a lot more permanent than they’d have us believe. Even skeletons usually still have their teeth!

I agree, it has gone from cavities, to plaque, to tartar, to enamel eroding and now it is gums … lol, even Egyptian mummies had tartar!

I have dentures now but two in front need repair and of course no insurance here so have to wait until can get the money up. When I went to see the dentist he had a snipe attitude as my dentures are 35years old. Wanted to know I waited until there were so old. I asked him if he wanted to pay for them. When I hve the money wont be going to him. It is disgraceful how they treat people xx for sure Hugs

Paying for the dentist is as painful as the treatment.

Oh Anne, “Black Day”, it certainly sounds like it. It is a wee while since I went to see one, well, a little more than a wee while, actually about 25 years, I have always been scared of them since a young boy but I know that day will come when I have to visit and pay their extravagant prices.

I hadn’t been for ages, but a cheeky bit of chewing gum sort of pull off a piece of tooth and I am caught in their evil web.
