Mother Nature has gone off meds

18 Jul

weatherlogo

It’s seems only fair to forewarn the world that ….. my legs and arms are bare I know, shocking news.  The sunshine has put the mercury into the 70’s and I ain’t complaining [well maybe just a smidge, to keep in practice].  My BFF is moaning about this country and its lack of air conditioning, but she’d need air conditioning in a freezer and still be too hot.  For me it is nice to have the window or door open and feel some warmth around me and not feel like I am in a dark dank hovel.

Let me see, Sunday, awake just after 4am, got u at 5am and was thrown in my Sisters car just before 6am ….. we were car booting ….. trying to get rid of the last remnants of junk cluttering up places.  It was a curious day, for one it was quite chilly, there ad been rain in the night and the sea mist was more of a blanket and it took the sun until mid afternoon to burn through it.  We got to the field at 6.20 and it was heaving with stalls.  what time did they appear 5am!!  Yet there did not seem to be the influx of people spending.  A friend of my Sisters joined us ‘for the fun of it’ and another friend brought some of her stuff to sell.  It as pleasant just sitting there [after a bacon and egg bun and a hot coffee] just spying the sights that trundled past.  Good grief, are people blind when they fumble in their closets and draws to get dressed?  Just because the label says size 12 does not mean you are dear.  And men, please, get some supportive under-the-butt-nut-huts especially when you’re wearing baggy short shorts, I don’t need to see things swinging merrily.  I didn’t sell much, just enough to cover expenses but it was a fun day in the reasonable weather with good company.  There are rumours that we shall do it again.

Tuesday my Sister and I went to see Evita at the Theatre Royal – astounding performance!!  Madalena Alberto absolutely nailed it as Evita, gave us goosebumps.  Marti Pellow is a good job as Che.  The whole cast [must equal 30+ and then there are the local children used as well] worked their socks off to bring a smooth, emotional, enthralling and energetic performance.  My sister and I have goosebumps, cheers and tears by the end.  There was a well deserved standing ovation for Madalena, which for someone [me] stuck in a chair was a bit enclosing, lol.  We have booked for ‘Twelve Angry Men’ with Martin Shaw in October.

What else is there – oh yes – i have dropped the bomb, after three weeks of trying to get the Directors together I ended up writing to them and also added my resignation letter from the posts [all three of them] with the Residents Property Management Company.  I have been slogging away for ten years, time someone else did it or everyone can pay up for an Agent to do it.  Time to trim down the things I do and concentrate on a couple of things I enjoy.

Right – break for lunch me thinks.

Have a lovely weekend peeps, don’t fry too long out there – moderation in all things.

*waves*
