Dear Uk newspapers and Media,
So the day has arrived, events have officially started taking place. We have the world visiting, watching and deciding about the Uk. At this crucial time of global perception, please can I point out a few things.
I am not interested in which athlete is sleeping with whom
I am not interested in the tax dodger getting a freebee seat
I am not interested in the benefit cheat volunteering at the Park
I am not interested in the illegal immigrant working, picking up litter or cleaning toilets
I am not interested in the rapist watching beach volleyball
I am not interested in the suspected pedophile watching the gymnastics
I am not interested in any a-z list celebrity posing for photos with Olympians or spectators
I am not interested in Mr Coke Cola drinking a Pepsi or Mr Burger King trying a MacDonalds
I am not interested in the slow trains or slower busses
I am not interest in these most tenuous of link connected to every single news item unolympic that you dain to report
I am not interesting in the boohoo whiny whinger
This is your chance to show what you can achieve by hard work, by having and holding a passion to strive and try at your particular event in life. Here is your chance to show the disaffected, the jobless, the uninspired that through dedication and sometimes sacrifice you can achieve things that will help you walk through life with a smile. You can show the young and the wannabes that you do not need to be a multi-millionaire celebrity to have success in what you do. You can show every underdog in every profession that getting the gold might be an aim but it is not a failure to not get there, the reward is trying your very best alongside others who are trying their very best, who understand the strife and effort it takes in life.
There will be moments of great sportsmanship, of people doing the unselfish, these are the lessons some in life need repeating.
If you could report events to the vest best of standard, tone and content, then maybe this malcontent person might take the time to read/watch you again.
