I have been perplexing and pondering this all important, mildly obsessive, occasionally controversial topic of “Healthy Living”. Recently there were tv and newspaper reports that watching tv for more than four hours a day was bad for your heart [watching the recent sporting events could also be deemed bad for blood pressure, stress levels and mental health!] …. along with the supposed brain cancer we will get from jabbering on our bluetooth devices and mobile/cell phones … the deafness from endlessly hours of iPoding … the radiation we get from our microwaves ….. the face full of water borne fungi from our shower heads ….. the faecal bacterial from the laundry washed at such low temperatures …. the unspeakable nasties will find on our dish rags, kitchen counters, chopping boards – taking all this on board it is no wonder the Health Analysts are so concerned about our life expectancy after all it is so dramatically altered since that of our fore fathers a mere fifty years ago when they didn’t have all these ‘healthy’ progressive gadgetry and new found ‘healthy’ knowledge.
Now remind me .. is red wine, red meat and dark chocolate good or bad for me this week?
